NORJAM 2014 Cub & Brownie Day

What a day we had
arriving at around 9.45am we met by the yellow flag with the other groups in our section.
We were joined by Katie, Joys niece, and 2 cubs who had no group to go round with.
The opening ceremony was a noisy affair with a warm up dance led by the Pirates of the Caribbean
and we learned the Camp Yell Nor .... Jam, Nor .... Jam, .... Nor, .... Jam, Nor, Nor, Nor, .... Jam Jam Jam!

The first activity was Vikings, where we made helmets ( out of paper ) and had a go at chariot racing and welly, er axe wanging! next we went to meet the Tudors where amongst other things there was the stocks and it was amazing to see Cubs really queueing up to have sponges thrown at themselves! Then we went to the market place and played some games, some of us got on Jam Radio,
some bought souvenirs, it was a great atmosphere. Then we had lunch.
After lunch we went to the Bouncy castles .... could have been a disaster but most kept their dinner down! George lost his wallet, or rather he didn't but thought he did so we spent 1/2 an hour or more looking for it, it was in his trousers pocket when he got home! owzat! for an own goal!
Next it was International for some games played with instructions in a foreign language then the Charity Zone where we had to think about what Charity means to us and found out about the work some of them do. Finally at the Victorian Zone we were introduced to The Queen, we are not amused, Victoria and some Charles Dickens characters, Ethan Rose was the Artful Dodger.
Then all too soon it was time for the closing and going home, we saw a film of some cubs on the day and sang Happy 100th Birthday to the Brownies then made a giant 100 out of all the people there!
